2009 Overall High Point Barrel Sire Top Winning Futurity & Derby Sire CRIMEWAVE Maxine McKenna accepts her cheque as the Stallion Incentive's top Derby Rider. Maxine also accepted the Custom Silver Buckle by Jim Hyde on behalf of Milt Rigetti of Rigetti Farms Ltd., owner of Crimewave, who was once again crowed as the overall top sire of winning horses at our event. About the Northern Lights Barrel Futurity & Derby Stallion Incentive
Since our first event held in Manitoba in 2002, the Northern Lights Barrel Futurity and Derby has hosted some of the most athletic, talented, and beautiful colts from Canada and northwestern USA. Every one of these exceptional barrel horses was selected with special attention to breeding. Barrel racers are always looking for the next winning combination of mare and stallion, and your stallion could be one. By advertising with the Northern Lights Sire Incentive Program we hope to expose your stallion to barrel racers and trainers, to increase the chances of your stallion or his offspring being chosen by them for competition.

Nominate Your Stallion
Our Sire Incentive Program is an opportunity to advertise and promote your stallion at the Northern Lights Futurity & Derby. For $150, your stallion will be featured on the NLfuturity.com website and in our other promotions including the event program. You are invited and welcome to set up a display booth during the event, or send us your literature, photos and information for display if you cannot attend.

If you are the owner of an up and coming stallion, this is the perfect way to get his name out and promote him to the barrel racing world. Most barrel racers are involved in the breeding and raising of these futurity colts and many are looking to breed to stallions that show promise and greatness. Advertising with the Northern Lights Barrel Racing Futurity and Derby is a great opportunity. Barrel Racing attracts horse enthusiasts of all ages and is one of North America's fastest growing equine sports - and our event's growing attendance is proof that Manitoba is no exception!

The Futurity and Derby nominated stallions will are rewarded points based on their gets placing in each go-round. First Place Futurity and Derby stallions will receive prizes and the combined High Point Sire (total points from both the Futurity and the Derby) receives a silver trophy buckle, created and sponsored by Jim Hyde, for their offspring's performance.
