The Northern Lights Barrel Futurity and Derby Committee is proud to present the only barrel racing event of it's kind in Manitoba held the 2nd weekend of August each year.

Futurity barrel racing horses must be 5 years of age or under with no prior competition and Derby barrel horses are 7 years old or under. We are happy to be affiliated with the Canadian Barrel Futurity Tour and also the Northern Region Futurity Tour.

We have seen excellent participation by talented barrel horses and riders from western Canada, and northwestern USA make the Northern Lights barrel races an exciting equine event.

Pine Ridge Equine Park
15 min. N of Winnipeg at Oakbank, MB. This facility has a large indoor arena, stalling and other horse facilities.

Payout:
6 places in 1D, 4 places in 2D (7/10 splits). Money will be paid in average and short go!

Format:
Fastest time of two go-round runs advance to short go (Top 10 Fast Times). Champions determined by combining Fastest Go Round Time with Short Go Time for lowest cumulative total.
